Umatilla County Jail Roster Overview
The official current-custody roster is the Umatilla County Sheriff's Office Citizen RIMS Incarcerated People module. The county links to it as the jail roster from county pages, and it is the right place to check whether someone is now held at the Umatilla County Corrections Facility. It is not the same as the Citizen RIMS Arrests module. Arrests can show recent sheriff arrests, while the roster shows current jail custody.
That distinction is important in Umatilla County. The jail can book people arrested by the sheriff, city police, tribal police, parole or probation authorities, Morrow County officers, and other agencies. A person arrested by another agency may still appear in the jail roster if they were booked into the county facility. Umatilla County Booking Process
Research did not find a public step-by-step jail booking manual, but the roster and county pages show the local path. An arrest or warrant pickup may lead to transport to the Umatilla County Corrections Facility. Jail staff create a booking record, assign a booking number, record agency and arrest information, screen the person, collect property, and classify housing based on custody, medical, safety, and facility needs.
The jail page says Umatilla County provides 24-hour medical services, mental health medications and counseling, addiction treatment, and other programs with contracted providers. A booking photo may be taken internally for identification, but the public roster does not display routine photos. One inspected current entry showed bookingComplete=false, which means a person can appear while final booking work is still underway.

A federal sentence belongs in BOP. Immigration detention belongs in ICE. No official BOP or ICE detention facility was found in Umatilla County, but those locators remain important fallback tools.

Umatilla County Jail Visitation

Regular jail mail is not sent straight to the Pendleton jail address. Umatilla County routes regular mail through ViaPath processing in Phoenix, Maryland. The published format is Umatilla County Jail, OR, inmate name and booking number, POB 247, Phoenix, MD 21131. Books must be sent directly from a vendor to the jail.
Phone, voicemail, deposits, and tablets use ViaPath or GettingOut services.
